Lonely or Misplaced at Christmas? Let me Share my Story!

Hello my Hope-Full friend!

Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong?

When I was a teenager my family moved across the country from Virginia to Arizona. It was quite the move and it was hard for me to make new friends in this completely new place. As Christmas approached it felt totally different with the warmth versus the cold and snow.

How could it be Christmas when it was so warm outside?

But then something happened to help me see the magic in Christmas again (even in Arizona), and even though I had very few friends.

Sometimes we just need to be seen or noticed to help us feel loved—to help change our perspective and out hearts.

If you have ever felt lonely or like things were too different for you to enjoy something like Christmas, here are some resources:

Remember you are never alone or beyond God’s love. If you are feeling a little extra out of it, pray and ask God to help you begin to feel the peace or joy of the holiday season. Sometimes we need His help to get us through.

This is the season where we rejoice with the angels, "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11) And because He came we will never truly be alone or lonely—He can and will be with us through the good and bad parts of life. He is the Prince of Peace and I know He lives.

One other idea if you are lonely  is to ask God who you can serve (even in some small way) this holiday season. The other day I was busy working through my To-Do list and had the thought to call a friend. I did, and we has so much fun just laughing and catching up. That small act of service blessed both me and her.

Merry Christmas my friend! Hope on!

Tamara
