Autism and Water Slides

Our cute Nathan-boy who usually HATES getting wet, due to sensory issues with autism LOVES these slides at the Provo Rec Center.
I got quite a workout going with him up the 3 flights of stairs and then sliding down over and over for over 2 hours. Nathan doesn’t like getting his face wet but he will tolerate getting it wet for these slides. They are so fun!
It is fun to find activities that Nathan will tolerate. I think he likes these slides because they don’t dump you into a pool at the end, and he has never been able to swim (because he hates putting his face under water).
Anyway, these slides finish with a long flat area where you splash everywhere and come to a complete stop. He loves them, and so I love bringing him here (at least once a year) to enjoy the slides at Provo Rec.
