Autism and Enjoying the Waves

Vacationing with a child on the autism spectrum is always interesting. You never know what will interest them.

When we went to Point Loma just outside of San Diego to explore the tide pools, we found something that Nathan LOVED.

Nathan LOVED watching the waves roll in. He stood there mesmerized by the never ending ocean swell and then crash against the rocks. He jumped and jumped and jumped with pure excitement and joy.

I love this photo of him with my other children because we caught him mid-jump. Can’t you just feel his excitement seeing the waves? It was so sweet to watch him enjoying the simple joys of life.
