Have you ever felt like you've been backed into the corners of life and that you're stuck and you can't seem to go forward? And you feel like God has led you to that point? You're like, well, what now? God, right? Where do you want me to go? What do you want me to do with this?

Tamara Anderson 0:15

And sometimes you look back on your old life and think that's where I wish I was, I wish I was in the back back in those good old days, right. And if you felt that way, you're not alone. We've all hit a point in our lives where we felt that way.

Tamara Anderson 0:31

I felt that way right as my children were diagnosed with autism. And I remember thinking, I wish that I could go back before I knew about the autism and just enjoy those times a little bit more. And anyway, I felt kind of stuck. And I knew God wanted me to move forward. But I didn't want to go that way.

Tamara Anderson 0:53

And there's a great story in the Old Testament that parallels these feelings that I've been expressing to you. And in fact, it's the story of Moses leading the children of Israel out of Egypt, and crossing the Red Sea. And they too, felt that way. They they left Egypt. And when they got to the Red Sea, they were kind of encompassed about they had the mountains on one side, they had the sea on the other, and all of a sudden, the Egyptians were blocking their way back. And so they were totally paralyzed in that space. And they began to fear and cry unto the Lord. And then they complained to Moses and said, I'm in Exodus, chapter 14. They said, Let us alone, why didn't you leave us alone in Egypt, that we serve the Egyptians, for? It had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, then we should die in the wilderness. They're like, it was better back there. No, nevermind that we were slaves. It was better, right?

And so sometimes, when we get to this point in our lives, where we're backed into a corner, we complain, we're like, what the heck, God, you've led me to this place, and I don't know what to do. I don't know where to go. And, and you feel frustrated.

Tamara Anderson 2:04

And it's interesting what God told Moses to tell the children of Israel, in that point at that point where they were stuck, and they didn't know what to do. He said, Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shoot you this day. And then he says, The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. And then he says, one final phrase in verse 15. And he says, that they should go forward. And I'm sure they're sitting there going, go forward, we're stuck. We can't go back. We can't go sideways, there's mountains, but there's a water in front of us, what do you expect us to do?

Tamara Anderson 2:51

And it's interesting, when God leads us to some places like this, where we feel backed into a corner, we just have to wait for that right window to open up. And it may be something we had never considered before. Just like, the Israelites had never considered, hey, let's go straight through the sea on dry land. It was impossible, right?

Tamara Anderson 3:11

And so God opened the way Moses stretched forth his hand, they crossed the sea. And they got through and out of that tight space in life. And it may not have been where they wanted to go, they didn't want to go to the wilderness, and wander in the wilderness for 40 years. But they learned a lot as a people in the wilderness.

Tamara Anderson 3:33

And I think that's how it is for us in life. God wants us to go to the promised land. And sometimes we have to go through the wilderness first. But he will provide ways for us to get there and go through it. And he'll give us water and manna in the wilderness.

Tamara Anderson 3:47

And so if you're in your wilderness right now, take heart that the Lord is on the other side, and you're going to reach that promised land someday, but he will open the right way for you. And when you feel backed into the corner, listen to the words of Moses to the Israelites to go forward. We can't stay stuck in the past and thinking about the good old days, we've got to move forward and through whatever is facing us at the time, and it may not be pleasant, and it may not be happy. It may be a little wilderness he and I know that's probably not a word, but we need to keep moving forward and have faith in the Lord and trust that he will go before us and he did. He was their cloud by day and their pillar of fire by night he led them exactly where they were supposed to go.

Tamara Anderson 4:42

And so we have to take heart that God is guiding us that He will open even impossible ways for us to get through things when we're backed into a corner. And then as we move forward, we're going in the right direction. And he will lead us and guide us and get us through and he A that is my message for you today share it with those who need it and have a wonderful day
